I would like to express my gratitude to Tamara Mitnitskaya for organizing the public talk in the Creative Diaspora space in the center of Moscow. The discussion "How and Why to Help Children with Forced Displacement Experience" took place on June 1, on Children's Day, in 2021. Additionally, on that day, there was a presentation of the comic book "Run can't stay" - a joint project of the "Samokat" publishing house and the UNHCR.

Together with experts from the Civil Assistance Committee and the Higher School of Economics, we discussed why it is crucial to engage in the integration of refugee children, what role schools, teachers, parents, and civil society play in this process, and why it is beneficial for all parties involved. We also talked about volunteering in the field of forced migration in Russian NGOs and the UN system.

Students, teachers, parents, and all interested individuals were invited to participate in the event. The public talk was successful in many ways, largely thanks to Tamara creating comfortable and well-thought-out technical conditions. Moreover, Tamara was well-prepared to moderate the event, asking profound and interesting questions, coordinating questions from the audience. All participants had the opportunity to show slides to illustrate their points; the presentation was delivered to Tamara in advance, and there were no technical issues during the public talk, neither with the slides nor with the microphone or lighting, which is crucial for speakers and did not distract the audience.

Tamara was a great study colleague! Very organized and proactive in dealing with group projects. She was responsible for her tasks and original in her views to dealing with the questions and projects we worked on together. She was also really kind and considerate, and this was peculiar considering our very different racial backgrounds, leading me to believe she is open-minded and very global in her approach to every individual irrespective of who they are. It was a particularly nice experience to relate to someone like her.
